Why you should be a DIVA in your business

Hey Confident Ladies!

This week we are going to have some FUN!!!! Drumroll…….we are talking "Why you should be a DIVA in your business" Ok, I know this sounds silly, but let me explain. You NEED to be INTENTIONAL when YOU are hiring your clients. Yes, it’s not just about our clients hiring US, we have to hire them to work with us as well. And this ties in with what we talked about last week--clearing the mental clutter and the week before, clearing the clutter to have more mental space to make ETHICAL and INTEGRAL decisions. Let’s start with a few questions:

// Have you ever hopped on a Discovery Call and felt off about a client who wanted to work with you?

// Have you ever worked with clients out of scarcity even when you knew they weren’t your ideal client?

// Have you ever wished you would have caught the “warning signs” before taking a not-so-ideal client on?

I am going to teach you how to be INTENTIONAL when hiring your clients, but I want you to set some BIG goals. How can I be more intentional in my hiring process with clients?! Is there anything I know I can change right away?!

Here are a few tips that I teach my clients:

  1. Get in an Abundance Mindset. DO NOT, again, DO NOT take on a client because you are in scarcity mindset or want to “hit your numbers”. This is total ICK and nothing good can come out of this.

  2. Just as a client is interviewing you on their Discovery Call, make sure you interview them. Ask what their intentions and expectations are. Are they aligned with your work and your values? If you are all about giving in your business and they are greedy and only caring about the numbers, would that feel good to you?

  3. ALWAYS ask yourself this before YOU commit to a client….. “Can I see spend the next ___months (however long your program is) with this client? My programs are 6-months and if I can’t see myself feeling lit up about helping them for that long, that is a red flag.

  4. Is what they are asking for help with in my ZONE of GENIUS? You not coaching in your zone of genius = unhappy + unfulfilled client.

Have you thought of these questions before accepting a client into your program? I do each and every time. This makes for a happy coach and happy client. Six months with a client who is miserable will bring your vibe down, drain you, and deplete you from being the best business owner you can be to your other clients and potential clients.

Now for some wisdom!

I am very adamant on this subject AND I know it’s CRUCIAL you are in a good place in your mindset + confidence in order to keep this boundary. Back in April when I was getting close to full in my business I told my hubs I declined a total of 5k of clients in a few week span. He was like “Huh? Are you crazy? Why?” And I explained to him it would have NOT been in integrity for me to take them on. I explained that I will only take clients who are within my zone of genius, who are ready to do the work, ready to invest their TIME, and at the level that they need my help. He quickly understood after I explained and 100% agreed. And guess what? By May I was completely booked up with more than IDEAL clients. I truly believe this is because I chose my clients with integrity.

Now I don’t just send these clients away, I always give them referrals or suggestions on what they need to do to get prepared to work together. Many business owners feel pressured to “hit the numbers” and just book clients. But my question to them is, “Is this the way to create loyal happy customers OR a way to create customers who feel they didn’t get the results they wanted and tell their next coach or even others in the industry that “you didn’t deliver for them”? I hear that ALL the time. It’s not always about the coaches level of expertise, it’s about whether the coach was truly the BEST fit for their needs.

Wanna know why I adore each and every one of my clients and have so much energy to share and bring to the group? I use all the tips above when “hiring” my clients. If I can’t see us looking forward to seeing each other every week, it’s not worth it. I want to work with clients I know are in the right place to do the work and start seeing momentum and results. It would be out of integrity for me to take on everyone and could also be a drain and detriment to my business. This is where I practice abundance. I may release a prospective client, but this keeps space open for the RIGHT client. The one who will get RESULTS, the one whose life and business will TRANSFORM during our time together. I honestly feel so much gratitude for the clients I am working with. I get excited to talk with them, see them grow, and it’s so bittersweet when they achieve their goals and move on to bigger and better places in their businesses!!
